What are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven team member who shares our champion mindset and values. This role involves verifying & documenting incoming & outgoing steel shipments, dealing with truckers, sales, production & warehouse staff, mill test reports, shipping assistance, multiple forms & documents.

Responsibilities

  • Check incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage
  • Prepare shipping documents (bills of ladings)
  • Prepare receiving documents & verify against mill orders
  • Prepare & tag container shipments on arrival
  • Assist with various other shipping records, statistics & documentation

Qualifications

  • Critical: Meticulous attention to detail is required
  • Excellent computer skills; comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and ability to learn specialized inventory software
  • Extremely well organized, able to work independently or as a team with a high level of initiative & flexibility
  • Self-motivated & able to problem solve within a fast-paced, constantly changing plant environment
  • Excellent command of oral & written English
  • Flexible & willing to learn & take on other tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle customer service including receiving and accurately processing orders
  • Answering questions and following up with customers
  • Analyze and resolve customer complaints
  • Assisting in developing project bids
  • Creating and maintaining customer records
  • Developing new and existing relationships with clients
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A Post-Secondary degree is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior sales experience and ideally experience within the steel industry.
  • Experience with pre-painted steel would be an asset but is not a requirement to be considered for this role.

What we are looking for is a driven team member, who shares our champion mindset and values. This role requires completing and maintaining purchase orders for raw goods, materials, and supplies. This candidate will work closely with the sales departments to gather and submit orders across the entire organization. You will record purchases at the time of request and submit these orders for final approval from the department manager.

Cascadia Metals is seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. This role will be a permanent, full-time position and is located at our Delta branch. We are looking for a driven team member, who shares our champion mindset and values. This position which involves arranging freight, completing freight documentation (BOLS, receiving's), working with truckers, sales, and production. Prior experience with arranging freight and docks an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Mill/ Origin agent to obtain material cargo readiness dates.
  • Negotiate with ocean carriers,
    • breakbulk parcels,
    • Annual Service Contracts, (container) with Cascadia Metals
  • Negotiate with Discharge Port Terminals
    • For on Doc Charge (i.e.- THC) to "first place of rest"
    • To accept inbound parcels in full
  • Problem Solve overages & shortages (identified at discharge port) with all parties in the Supply Chain (i.e. Mill, Carrier & Port Terminals)
  • Review and manage Incoming ocean freight
    • Bulk ships, container ships, negotiation of container contracts, negotiating, port contracts, booking of bulk shipment coming in via ocean freight, that we are responsible for,
  • Investigate / Mitigate Damage & Detention Claims with Carriers
  • Work closely with Sales & Operations for the seamless movement of cargo from origin to destination
  • Documentation ( All Material Types Shipping Breakbulk/ Container)
    • Update SteelPlus PO Line Notes to effect amounts produced/shipped and ETA Vancouver port
    • Update breakbulk/ Container spreadsheets
  • Inventory Control
    • Purchase material from international / domestic suppliers
    • Create/ update new or existing IDS
    • Coordinate the set-up of new suppliers/ vendors in SteelPlus and with accounting
  • Purchasing
    • Create and issue purchase orders (keeping system up to date, regarding incoming ocean freight)
    • Process commercial invoices for payments
    • Distribute supplier/mill shipping documentation internally
    • Update PO to reflect amounts produced & container vessel booking details
    • Obtain, process & distribute ocean carrier invoices/ documentation
  • Sales Inquiries
    • Obtain pricing (international and domestic sources) for all branch inquires
  • Various other duties as may be required

Qualifications:
